About my English sessions
I offer child and adolescent psychotherapy entirely in English for families who need psychological support in a language other than Portuguese. Whether you are an expat family, an English-speaking family living in Brazil, or have a child whose native language is English, I am here to help.
My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), one of the most evidence-based modalities for children and teenagers. Sessions are adapted to the child's age, needs, and language — play-based for younger children, more conversational for teens, always warm and non-judgmental.
What I can help with
- Anxiety, excessive fears, and school refusal
- Behavioral challenges and emotional dysregulation
- Sadness, withdrawal, and low mood
- Adjustment difficulties — new country, new school, new sibling
- Sleep problems and separation anxiety
- Attention and learning difficulties
- Parental guidance: practical CBT strategies for day-to-day challenges at home
How sessions work
We begin with an intake session with the parents (or caregivers) to understand the child's history, main concerns, and what you hope to achieve. This can be done online or in-person.
From there, I tailor the therapeutic approach to your child's age and profile. Frequency is typically weekly or biweekly. Parents are active partners in the process — not just observers.
